GLOBAL YOUTH DAY MARCH 16,2019

Please Note: All participants must wear the NEW Global Youth Day Shirt. To guarantee your preferred shirt size, you must register by February 28, 2019
 
 
Volunteers must be 10 & older to participate. (Volunteers ages 10 – 14 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.)
Volunteers will assist with:   *Assist with painting/drawing a mural in the City  *Minister to individuals in the street in the form of art  *Artist, art enthusiast and painters are encouraged to sign-up for this site, however, if you do not fall under those groups of individuals you are still encouraged to sign-up for this site.
 
Volunteers must be 15 & older to participate.
VERY IMPORTANT GROUP
Volunteers will assist with:    *Pre-organizational setup on Friday, March 15 starting at noon (if not available to assist at noon, please inform organizers of time you are able to come and assist. *Work with the City of Miami Gardens Staff to clean up the street and obtain and install our Adopt A Street Sign. *Assist with loading and unloading of truck   *Cleanup of church at the conclusion of GYD – March 16. 
 
 
Volunteers must be 14 & older to participate.
Volunteers will assist with: *Setup and cleanup designated area for event. *Cutting hair and doing nails for the homeless  *Feed homeless *Look for opportunity to do an extra act of kindness.
 
 
 
 
Volunteers under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Volunteers will assist with:
*Pampering youth in the foster care system (hair and nails). *Planting a flower garden *Painting doors and repairing broken items *Providing small entertainment with the kids.
 
 
 
 
Volunteers must be 16 & older to participate.
Volunteers will SMILE.  Volunteers will assist with:  *Putting gas in patrons vehicles *Clean cars windshield  *Pass out water and snacks to patrons *Manage bounce house festivities *Must be happy and have great customer service skills. (If you do not have good customer service skills, this may not be the service project for you.)
 
 
 
Volunteers must be 8 & older to participate. Volunteers ages 8 – 14 must be accompanied by parent or guardian. 
Volunteers will assist with:    *Prepping donated shoes    *Scrubbing them with disinfectants before they are put into washing machines   *Labeling the shoes and bagging them for distribution.
 
 
 
 
All Ages may participate. (Volunteers under 17 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.) Participants must be willing to drive their own vehicles. 
Volunteers will:   *Prepare and cook meals for the elderly/senior citizens in the Miami Gardens community. *Bring the meals to the elderly/senior citizens in the community. *Pray with the elderly/senior citizen. *Assist the with any immediate needs or simple task in their home (i.e. throw out the trash, wash dishes, etc).*Spend up to 60-90 minutes with each elderly family assigned
 
 
 
All Ages may participate. (Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.)
Volunteers will assist with: *Invasive plants will be removed from the site to make way fro native vegetation. * Marine Debris Cleanup – collect trash from the beach and log each item using Marine Debris Tracker and Clean Swell, free smartphone and tablet apps. * Other duties as assigned.
 
 
 
All Ages may participate.
Volunteers will assist with:    *Hosting a short worship service with clients which will involve singing, a devotional thought, an impromptu skit if possible prayer.    *Activities director directions with games for clients.
 
 
 
 
Volunteers must be 15 & older to participate.
Volunteers will:    *Be assigned a site and will be the official photographers for that site  *Take photos and videos at their respective site  *Remit photos and videos to the communications leader on a shared drive at the conclusion of the event *Must have your camera or a phone that takes high quality photos and video.
 
 
 
All Ages may participate. (Volunteers under 15 must be accompanied by parent or guardian.)
Volunteers will:   *MUST SMILE *Ministry to individuals in the street   *Pass out water to individuals in the street   *Provide assistance to individuals *Assist individual with loading their vehicles from the grocery store * Do random acts of kindness *Must be happy and have great customer service skills. (If you do not have good customer service skills, this may not be the service project for you.)
